ECSO is a combined emergency dispatch facility, and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), for over 30 law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service agencies.

Habitat for Humanity provides a unique opportunity for hardworking people and families to build and buy their own homes. Our houses are sold at no profit to our partner homeowners with an affordable mortgage. The mortgage lengths and payments vary depending on the income of the new homeowner(s); the monthly mortgage payment is based on the cost of construction (also includes taxes, insurance, and condo fees, if applicable) but is no more than 30% of the homeowner’s gross monthly income at the time of sale. As Habitat for Humanity homeowners make their monthly mortgage payments they are put into a revolving fund that helps pay for construction of future houses in Jackson County.
In 2006, Kevin read a newspaper article about 1,500 homeless youth in Jackson County and the need for a youth shelter. After many discussions with local service agencies confirming this need and no other agency willing to take it on, he felt compelled to do what was needed to establish a youth shelter, which first required forming a non-profit organization. Hearts With A Mission (HWAM) was granted its 501(c) 3 as a non-profit organization in March of 2007. In 2008, HWAM received a Community Development Block Grant through the City of Medford, with which they purchased property at 521 Edwards. The home was renovated through generous donations from the community to house up to 17 youth. HWAM opened its doors as a licensed Child Caring Agency in the State of Oregon on December 21st, 2009.
The Homeless Oregon Pet Project (HOPP) 501(c)(3) Nonprofit began in January 2009 when volunteers Donna and Larry Harold and veterinarian Julie Tavares offered free veterinary services at the Josephine County Homeless Count at Riverside Park. We continued the monthly clinics out of the Parkway Christian Center Back Parking Lot and were quickly joined by veterinarian Emily Talkington. We function as a non-profit organization (501(c)(3) Nonprofit).
Since 1969, we have been developing new housing options throughout Jackson County, expanding our rental assistance programs and implementing family self sufficiency and tenant services programs that give families in our community the tools they need to succeed.
The JCFPA warehouse provides for the material needs of foster, guardianship, and adoptive families so they can focus on loving the most vulnerable children in our community. The warehouse offers free clothing and many other items to these families; you do not have to be a JCFPA member to access the clothing warehouse — all licensed foster and relative caregivers in Jackson County are welcome. Only larger furniture items like beds, cribs, and strollers are for paid Jackson County Foster Parent Association members.

Alerts quickly provides the community with critical information during situations such as wildfires, severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods. Jackson County Animal Services is committed to ensuring public safety and animal welfare by responding to emergencies involving dangerous or aggressive animals, rescuing injured or neglected pets, and mediating neighborhood disputes related to pets. The department also provides shelter and care for lost, stray, or abandoned animals, while working to reunite them with owners or find them new homes. Additionally, it enforces pet licensing regulations and ensures compliance with animal care laws. The Raskin family - Carl, Linda, David , and Murray -- started JoCo Spay & Neuter Fund with a group of friends concerned about all the homeless dogs and cats in our county. They knew that spay and neuter funding was "the orphan child" of animal rescue, because shelters must use so much of their resources to house, feed and adopt out animals. They wanted to focus all their energy on reducing the number of animals, so that more would be able to find "furever" homes. JCSNF earned its official non-profit, 501(c)3 designation in November of 2009.

Sacred Heart School has a Food Bank that is available to the public. The Middle School helps out with this service as well as a few volunteer parents. It is located in the alley behind the SHCS gym. For the last several years, all the classes at Sacred Heart School have donated food for the Food Bank during the school year.
We are just like you! Shelter Friends is an all-volunteer group who saw a need in our community and took action. We started as four people meeting around a kitchen table and now have dozens of volunteers who help our local shelter animals. Our goal is to make as many animals adoptable as possible and then move them into the right homes quickly and efficiently. We make a difference in our community — one animal at a time — because of the work of our dedicated volunteers. Shelter Friends has also achieved an amazing milestone — a 95% live release rate! This gives the shelter a “no kill shelter” status. It shows that every animal here knows love, care and comfort, and has a full belly and safe place to live.

"Friends for Animals” dba South Coast Humane Society (SCHS) started in 1992 by 12-15 individuals who saw a need to help abandoned/lost pets. Friends for Animals filed Articles of Incorporation in December of that year and obtained the 501(c)(3) non-profit status. They first started by fostering animals in their homes and holding fundraisers of bake sales, yard sales, and auto raffles.
Greenhill Humane Society has been caring for animals in Lane County since 1944. We operate the only animal shelter within the Eugene/Springfield area. Our programs include animal adoptions; reuniting lost animals with their families; disaster response; crisis care boarding in situations of domestic violence, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations; spay/neuter for free roaming, un-owned community cats; a pet pantry; on-site volunteer opportunities; foster care and humane education.
